Raising the Roof
Saturday, 13 March 2010
Not a lot has happened this week on site, but in the background we have got a few things moving. Firstly Kevin the architect is now drawing up the amended plans which will then go to the structural engineers so that they can re calculate the steels, then be submitted to the planning office for approval.
We also decided to save one of the trees in the garden as it is pretty in summer and does not block the view.
Demolition should recommence this Wednesday all being well.
We have also agreed the electrical lighting plan and have the air exchange unit being looked into.
So it's all steam ahead.

Brilliant News
We have been told that if we put in for amended planning permission our Planning Officer will look on it favourably. This means that the metre that he knocked off the back of our property can now be put back in glass with amended planning permission. Long story, but the outcome is we get what we want. Fingers crossed this goes as planned. Just a couple of things to do now, get the new amended plans drawn up, seeing Kevin our architect at 11am tomorrow then we have to see Bob who drew up the structural plans to get the steel work re-jigged, hopefully it can be done as the wall that supports the largest metal beam has to be relocated.

Demolition stops
Everything was going so well, a bit too well apparently.
The demolition team were only supposed to be removing the asbestos but over-stepped the mark by starting the full demolition.
Demolition can be re-started on the 19th March when all the correct demolition notices have been served upon our neighbours as required by 'The Party Wall Act' and by law.
So it's not a step back we are going in the right direction, we just have to proceed at the correct speed.
