After two weeks absence sunning ourselves on safari in Kenya, yes it was lovely thank you, the building has sprouted out of the ground. We are now at floor level with the block and beam flooring taking shape. As you can see from the floor level we certainly won't get flooded.

Wow, talk about get a move on
The builders 'Baron Levine' got the amended planning permission in writing this morning and said that the Ground Workers would be on site today to start digging the foundations. We visited the site at 4.30pm and not only have they dug the rear foundations they are pouring concrete too.
That's amazing
, things are really happening at last.

We got it
Quick update, just checked Poole Planning web site and our planning amendment has been granted, so it's all steam ahead, well it would be but our builder is on holiday until Thursday and we are out of town on Friday and then off on holiday for two weeks on Monday. Hopefully we can grab 5 minutes to discuss the next move and get this project off the ground. Would have celebrated with Champagne but the decision has taken so long a coming that the shine has disappeared. Let's hope things can get under way quickly.

The wait goes on but the garden walls go up
We are still awaiting the Planning Officers decision on our amended plans, he said yes in principal, now we need to see yes in writing. Hopefully soon. In the mean time the builders have built a new rear garden wall, half height side wall, work still in progress. The base for the garden store has been laid and the water harvester has been deposited into the ground along with some cement to keep it down as the water table is very high. A few photos to keep you going until the next installment.

Quick update
We are still awaiting the Planning Officers decision on the amendment that we have submitted, but as he has said that he cannot see any problems we have taken the chance and carried on with the paperwork side. The structural engineers are re-calculating the steels needed for the build and Kevin our architect will be sorting out the building regs this week when he returns from holiday.
The builders arrive on site this week and they will be clearing the site of all the trees today (Monday 12th our 24th wedding anniversary) and then digging a huge hole for the water harvester tank which will be arriving tomorrow.
Hope we hear soon about the planning as it will make all the difference to our house build.
