Almost there

Well, we have work men on site and things are slowly coming together.

The pictures are not in quite the right order, the Internet keeps going down and I am not getting the chance to put them in order.

The first picture is a spot the difference, just in case you can't see it, we have had the white aluminium pillar on the right changed for a brick pillar, looks a lot better.

The photos show the stairs, the outside step lights, our burgundy bedroom wall, the front drive and the lounge with the latex on ready for the flooring. Also a couple of pics of Hamworthy Beach, bit overcast but still beautiful.

Getting there

Having returned from holiday we are now pushing to get the house finished.
The glass roof at the rear of the building is being installed this week. Probably take about 5 days.
The interior of the house is being painted.
The solar side is taking shape with a huge 400 litre thermal store cylinder and pipe work everywhere.
The fitted bedroom furniture has been installed in bedrooms 2 & 3 and the walk-in wardrobe furniture has been fitted. Looks lovely.
The electric light fittings are being installed.
The bathrooms have been tiled and the bathroom showers, sinks etc are being fitted at the moment.
Garden walls have been spray rendered and capped.
The patio area and front drive has been prepared with hard-core ready for the block pavers and slabs.
We are aiming to move in on the 12th April, which is our 25th Wedding Anniversary.

The doors arrive

The Balconette team led by Peter arrived on site on Monday and by Tuesday evening the doors were in.
We are very pleased with the doors and panels and when the glass roof is fitted at the end of February along with the glass balustrade the whole back will be tied together and in our opinion look the bees knees.
The doors took 4 months in total to manufacture and arrive from Israel and as they are bespoke we are so relieved that they fit perfectly. Another 4 months in production would have been unthinkable.
A brilliant day on site.

Odd pictures from today

A few photos taken on site and in the park today.
We now have a step to get out onto the balcony.
The outside walls have had their first coat of K-Rend, this will be finished off tomorrow, thank goodness for good weather. By the way, the colour tones down, it isn't egg yolk yellow really.
The plasterers are still on site and still dry lining the downstairs walls.
The window fitters have been in fixing bits and pieces, still awaiting some windows, first ones delivered were the wrong size.

Quick catch up

We are now well into January and things are progressing now that the harsh winter weather appears to be behind us.

I have added a few random pictures to show the work in progress.

Today the plasterers are working on the ground floor walls having completed the upstairs plastering.

The stairs have gone in, but obviously not finished, trying to keep them looking good until the build is complete.

We have underfloor heating in the bathrooms and work is progressing with the plumbing.

We have a few more windows including the large master bedroom window and the view is still brilliant.
